Chevrolet has not yet officially released the new list of options and prices for the 2011 Camaro yet but there are a few changes we can fill you in on. We will post the new options and prices as soon as they become available for release from Chevrolet. Production for the 2011 was scheduled to start last week on June 7th so the new models are getting ready to roll out.

So far there are no options that are being removed from the Camaro model line with the exception of the color Aqua Blue Metallic is no longer going to be available.

One of the positive changes that are being made are an increase in horsepower on the V6 with a rating increase to 312hp. This is not a lot of power and looks to be more of an adjustment by Chevrolet to the numbers being presented for the engine. Still it is nothing to shake a stick at when you think that the first generation Camaros did not get over 300hp (officially) until you hit the big block 396 and 427 category. Other changes are new features including premium carpeted floor mats (option VYW), a hood and hockey stripe package reminiscent to the first generation 1969 Camaro will be available in white, black and gray and the addition of a cargo net as an optional item to check off. On the greener side of the color wheel Synergy green from the special edition 1LT model is going to be a regular option color but those that want Rally Yellow will now have to pony up a few extra dollars.

The big change appears to be the addition of an option that many of us have been dying to see in the new Camaro. Yes you guessed it HUD, Head-Up Display or as many refer to it Heads Up Display is heading to a Camaro near you. The HUD has been in use in the Corvette for a while now and prospective Camaro owners have been hoping that it would make it to the new model line. The Camaro HUD will be available in 2011 on 2LT and 2SS models and will show vehicle speed, tachometer, compass, outside air temp, manual paddle shift indicator (if ordered), OnStar turn by turn directions, audio functions, phone information, selected gear, turn signals, high beam indicator and vehicle messages. We for one can’t wait to see this in action on a live model. Pictures of the 2011 Camaro HUD display coming soon.

As the restoration continues the black lacquer paint is applied. The original exterior color for the Batcar was A-2 on the trim tag. This color combination decodes as Tuxedo Black lower body color and black convertible top. In 1967 the original colors used by Chevrolet came from three different manufacturers according to Chevrolet records -
